No Plain, No Grain
The owners of Great Plains Custom Grains needed a mark that paid homage to their Kansas agricultural heritage, yet was hip enough to appeal to the fresh crop of custom distilleries that were popping up in the region. Nothing like a woodblock look to achieve the goal. Since the yields were so small they could be harvested and bagged manually so I created a rubber stamp for each variety to give each bag a unique, hand-stamped, vintage look.
On a side note, the owners have since started a craft brewery called Fields & Ivy and are putting their own produce to work in their custom beer styles. And guess who they asked to develop the brand? You can find the answer elsewhere in my portfolio!
