Creative Drive
KUTC is a multi-disciplinary center of the University of Kansas operating since 1977. It encompasses several research and technology transfer programs. Primary areas of interest are highway engineering and maintenance, traffic engineering and safety, workforce development, and community transit.
KUTC asked me to develop a system for the Center that would enliven their dated identity. "Kansas", "transportation" and "highways" needed to be prominent concepts in the mark. All three concepts come together with a stylized K and T merging to suggest a roadway intersection.
Good design always has the right of way.
